Best Cayman Islands Activities
Before we take a closer look at the best Cayman Islands all-inclusive resorts for families, we want to give you some ideas of all the incredible activities you and your family can do while on the Cayman Islands.
Explore the Wildlife
One of the most popular things to do in the Cayman Islands is going scuba diving and snorkeling. These islands are home to an astounding array of different marine life, and you don’t have to go far beneath the waves to experience it all.
Sites like Kittiwake Shipwreck & Artificial Reef are popular amongst both novice and experienced divers. There’s also Eden Rock, Devil’s Grotto, and Bloody Bay Marine Park. Under the water, you’ll run across some creatures that you certainly wouldn’t find anywhere else in the world. Caribbean Reef Sharks are native to this region, as are Spotted Eagle Rays, sea turtles, and groupers.
Stingray City, north of Grand Cayman, is easily one of the most popular places on the island. Although it’s called a “city,” this fantastic spot is really a large sandbar where stingrays like to congregate. They are totally docile, and you can interact with them there. If you’re brave, you might even be able to feed them.
The Cayman Islands are also an excellent place to try your hand at deep-sea fishing and check out the tropical land life on Little Cayman, where you can see red-footed boobies and iguanas. Outside of places like the Galapagos Islands, you would be hard-pressed to find as many intriguing creatures in both land and sea.
Hike Some Trails
Mastic Trail is an excellent place to explore on land, and you can get amazing views of the island and surrounding sea from it. There are plenty of other trails as well, and your resort concierge can undoubtedly tell you where the best spots to go are.
Another popular activity is beach hopping. Since the Cayman Islands are relatively small, you can visit any beach you want in under an hour. Make one of these resorts your home base, and go explore all that the Cayman Islands have to offer. It’s a good idea to talk to your concierge so that you can strategically plan out your day and minimize driving time.

Tips and Tricks
While you’re planning your Cayman Islands adventure, it helps to think seasonally. The Cayman Islands are less busy between March and June. However, since this island chain is tropical, temperatures will still be in the 80s all throughout the year. You could find excellent deals on hotels and resorts in January and February, but the temperatures will be a lot lower, hovering right around the 60s.
Hurricane season is between June and November. If you decide to travel during those months, make sure that you have the proper hurricane insurance and have a backup plan just in case.
Although the Cayman Islands are a huge hub for all sorts of different animals, there are stringent rules guiding how you can interact with them. Although you can feed stingrays in Stingray City, you can’t take them out of the water. Knowing how to properly and safely interact with these animals can keep you and your family from running into trouble or getting injured.
Additionally, many stores in the Cayman Islands are closed on Sunday.
Keeping these tips in mind will help you to make the most of your Cayman Islands adventures and enjoy the trip of a lifetime with your family!
